As a good Dominican, I love baseball. This year's finals are being played between the Licey Tigers and the Cibaeñas Eagles. These two teams are eternal rivals, this is the first time in almost 9 years since they've been face to face in the finals. Today I went to the baseball stadium with some friends to watch a game, and sadly my team (Águilas Cibaeñas) lost, but there are many games to be played. Besides, it ain't over 'til the fat lady sings. Come next week we'll all be Dominicans when we head to the Caribbean Series. ¡Vuá l'Águila!

What I do #fmsphotoaday #fms_whatido #fmspad #january #enero #2017 According to my ID, the things that I do at the office and in court, and to the clothes I wore today, I'm a lawyer. Even though the Dominican Republic was initially a Spanish colony (when you hear that Columbus "discovered" America, this was the place where he landed), thanks to the Haitian occupation of 1822, Dominican Law comes straight from French Law. Whenever I go to court I have to wear black pants (or skirt), a white shirt, a black tie, a robe and a cap with a white ball on top. Judges and prosecutors wear a blue (prosecutors) or purple (judges) stripe on both their sleeves and the same color ball on top of the cap. So yeah, I'm a lawyer, that's what I do for a living.

Today the good people started to stand up against the corrupt and against impunity, and marched in unison to the national palace (the were impeded to get there by the cops, but they kept on marching towards the historical park where our independence war began). Today the Dominican Republic has woken up. The good people will not let the bad go on taking away what belongs to us. Today I am proud to say I'm from the Dominican Republic. 🇩🇴
