Un saludo al día 248/365 #project365 #septiembre #september #2017 Este fue uno de esos días. Vickiana no prendió esta mañana. El booster estaba descargado, el cargador al principio no cargaba porque el genio del conserje pintó sobre el toma corriente. Cuando por fin logro prenderla voy a PriceSmart y no tenían baterías. Voy a Hylsa, compro una y cuando me voy a montar la llave "se me degrana" en la mano (estas llaves modernas con chip que si no están completas el vehículo no prender). La "empato". Llego a casa, logro conseguir la otra llave (papi, eras un "montro", gracias por guardar mi llave de repuesto), pero la pila se había descargado. Hago magia, prendo a Vickiana de nuevo y voy a cambiarle la pila a la llave. 2 horas comprando pilas, focos y velas para el evento. Todo esto en tráfico de día pre-huracán. Me duelen hasta los cabellos. Y sin embargo sonrío.

En raras ocasiones (para no decir que esta fue la primera vez) ocupo, como hoy hice, la posición que siempre me toca explicarle a los demás. Aún sabiendo cuál era mi calidad y mi responsabilidad y obligación de decir la verdad frente a la injusticia que se quiere cometer contra alguien a quien quiero de verdad, en un momento se me olvidó que aunque efectivamente estaba en la sala de audiencias de un tribunal, mi papel era diferente al usual pues no portaba toga y birrete y por consiguiente no estaba investida del "poder" que estos conllevan, y me dirigí al tribunal para hacerle una corrección como si estuviese detrás de la barra de la defensa. Hoy en vez de dar calidades en representación de otra persona y presentar mi carnet de abogado, me acerqué al secretario del tribunal y presenté mi cédula. Hoy fue diferente. Hoy fui una simple mortal, ciudadana común, portadora de la verdad, defensora de la justicia en mi calidad de auxiliar de la misma, en busca de que la verdad salga a relucir en esa justicia escurridiza que se practica en la República Dominicana. Hubiese querido estar del otro lado, portando toga y birrete sobre mi cuerpo, pero desde este lado cumplo con el mandato de la ley de que se imparta justicia.

Brechando al eclipse 233/365 #project365 #agosto #august #2017 Cerca de las 2 de la tarde subí al techo de palomar, lentes en mano, para ver el eclipse. No conté con que el techo es blanco y el reflejo del sol y el calor iban a hacer estragos en mí en tan poco tiempo. No habían pasado 15 minutos y ya estaba completamente deshidratada. Tuve que bajar "juyendo" a buscar par de botellitas de agua y un abanico. Volví a subir ya "armada" y lista para disfrutar del eclipse... que duró 30 minutos porque se nubló y comenzó a llover. La intención es lo que vale y por lo menos pude disfrutar de algo en vivo, el resto lo vi por tv y de otros países porque no conseguí nada local. Será para el próximo (en cuchumil años).

For a while now I have been asking the Lord to make me a better person. See, the guy upstairs listens when we ask for things, he really does, and sooner or later if those things we ask for are beneficial for us he will send them our way. The thing is that due to what some call his ironic or sarcastic sense of humor, he has a wicked way to give us what we ask for. I know all will pass and in the end I will rise victorious and with the knowledge required to become a better person, which is what I was asking for in the beginning, the thing is I forgot to ask that the road to goodness not be so harsh. I know, he works in mysterious ways and we are forged by fire, so I accept it and will keep on walking this path to gain my reward in the end. Nevertheless, word to the cautious, be careful what you wish for. As for my soul, well, I'm certain it currently weighs more than 0.741 oz.
