The 5 year mission turned into a continuing mission to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no ONE (originally man) has gone before. Gene, I hope you're happy up there orbiting the world and seeing how far we've come. The Star Trek influence has taken us where we would never imagined we'd go (we have flip phones and iPads, among other things, to thank you for).
