Tell a story #fmsphotoaday #fms_tellastory #fmspad #february #febrero #2020 For the pas few months (ok, not few, more than 6) I’ve been having issues with my feet. They’ve been swelling and hurting A LOT. The pain has been in the weirdest of places; top side, the ankle but not really, and lately here. This specific spot has been hurting continuously and progressively for the last 2 months. I’ve been busy as hell (thank God!) so I haven’t taken the time to go to the doctor to check this out (still haven’t taken my allergy results to the otorhinolaryngologist either). But I’m getting worse. First the pain was when I stood up for too long, the it progressed to a very burning sharp pain at night while in bed, so strong it woke me up and no matter what I did it didn’t go away. I’ve bought compression stockings, arch support (I’m flat-footed) and rubbed every single pain cream I’ve gotten my hands on. To no avail. Now when I walk my first steps are like an 80 year-old’s because of the pain. Today I’ve had the worst pain so far. Throbbing, burning, stabbing pain. So bad that I couldn’t hide it. I have a client who’s a doctor and coincidentally I had a meeting with him today. He knows I won’t be going to the orthopedist any time soon, so he checked my feet, told me this was a sort of neuralgia and prescribed these lidocaine patches to help me “hang in there” until I go to the hospital. Maybe next week, or the one after that. When I have the time. Or before I die. That’s today’s story.
